Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are built to repair teeth that are discoloured, worn-down, chipped or broken, misaligned or irregularly-shaped teeth. Dental Veneers provide natural teeth appearance that will not affect or irritate the gums. They are stain resistant, and can make dark teeth appear whiter. They offer a conservative approach to changing the teeth's colour and shape, meaning veneers do not require vigorous toot preparation as that for dental crowns and are stronger and more aesthetic than tooth fillings or dental bonding.

• Teeth that are discoloured which may have been a result from a root canal treatment, stained by excessive fluoride usage, or the presence of large resin fillings that discolour the teeth.

• Teeth that are worn down

• Teeth that are chipped or broken

• Teeth that are twisted, uneven, or irregularly shaped (for example, have craters or bulges in them)

• Teeth with gaps between them (to close the space between these teeth)

E.max® Porcelain Veneers

Emax Veneers are built as thin layers of porcelain in which they are bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth for esthetic and functional enhancement. They are made from Lithium Disilicate Glass Ceramic which is an extremely strong material. Besides outstanding aesthetics with their shade capacities, Emax Veneers are also capable to be pressed as thin as 0.3 mm so that you do not need to lose much of your teeth layers for preparation. They are designed to deliver a more durable but harmonious and natural-looking smile.

What are the Advantages of E.max® Veneers?

The main difference between traditional veneer designs and Emax Veneers is that they are made out of a special-treated ceramic, so that they can be pressed into very thin layers and still remain durable. They also feature higher-edge strength versus the feldspathic veneers, thus Emax Lithium Disilicate can be finished thinner without chipping (This is the edge of the veneers where they come into contact with other teeth, veneers, or crowns). Emax Veneers can withstand chips and fractures, as well as remaining resistant to stains; their width also makes them appear less bulky and perfect in proportion with the natural facial structure. As indicated earlier, Emax are minimal preparation veneers, as low viscosity of heat ingot enables pressing to very thin dimensions. The thinner the veneers, the less the preparation or drilling of the teeth and hence the stronger the bond between the teeth and the veneers. This is because with minimal reshaping of the tooth, the cementation is done in the tooth enamel, which features the best and strongest bond, in comparison with bonding on the inner layer of the tooth (dentine), which is exposed when more of the tooth is removed and drilled off. However, please note that this is the comparison between the Emax Lithium Disilicate porcelain veneers and other conventional porcelain veneers only, and the treatment plan in each client will still be individual as it's also related to the dental condition as well as the occlusion of your teeth.

In what conditions can E.max® Veneers be used?

Cosmetically, to improve the aesthetics and getting a white beautiful smile. In these cases usually the top eight teeth are veneered in the aesthetic or smile zone (i.e. the teeth that are visible when smiling). Uneven or malformed teeth, when teeth are poorly aligned or are not of correct morphology, the looks can be instantly improved by Emax veneers. However, the larger the misalignment the more tooth removal may be needed. Space closure/diastemas or chipped teeth - Emax veneers are an ideal choice to close single or multiple spaces. Where teeth are small and bulk need to be added to make teeth more expressive and visible. They can also be used to correct and rectify the chipped teeth. Discoloured teeth ; Not only the shape and design of the teeth can be changed and improved by Emax veneers but also the discoloration of the teeth can be masked and covered.

What are the procedures involved for E.max® Veneers?

As with any type of veneer, teeth, the facial profile and occlusion of the teeth (the way teeth come together and more over each other) has to be clinically assessed. Then based on above assessment and findings a design for the veneers are chosen from a possible list of different designs. This is followed by trial smile which is reproducing the chosen design on the model of teeth in wax. At this stage also any tooth removal/preparation if needed is assessed and shown to patient. After this stage has been completed, a mould of your teeth will be taken and then sent away to our ceramists to build a set of veneers to your exact specifications. When your veneers are ready, you can return to the clinic to have them permanently cemented in place, using very strong resin cements.
