Dental Crowns

If your teeth are severely damaged, dental crowns may be the right treatment for you. Our dental crowns use a tooth-shaped covering or “cap” made from metal, porcelain and porcelain fused to metal. Crowns are used to restore the strength of your tooth and improve oral discomfort. Types of Dental Crowns The type of dental crown used in your treatment will depend on your dental goals and the recommendation of your Dentist • Metal Crowns: Silver or gold in colour, these metallic crowns are not ideal for visible teeth. However, metal crowns are incredibly strong and durable, which makes them ideal for repairing and restoring your molars and damaged, non-visible teeth. • PFM -Porcelain-fused-to-metal Crowns: Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns replicate your natural teeth beautifully. They made from metal and covered by porcelain. • Zirconia Crowns - are All-porcelain crowns. They are ideal for your front, visible teeth. They are strong and metal free. When porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns are used for your front teeth, the metal can begin to show through at your gum line, creating a dark line after several years Dental crowns are protective covers that fit over your natural tooth. They help to hold your tooth together and stabilize it. They also create a barrier, absorbing some of the force from chewing. That way, your compromised tooth is not taking on that day-to-day pressure without support. We customize dental crowns for each patient to make sure that they fit properly. It typically takes a couple of appointments to receive your dental crown. At your first appointment, we will prepare your tooth and place a temporary crown on your tooth. We will take your dental impressions and preferences such as colour, shape, and materials and our stuff in dental lab on a site will start creation of your dental crown. Once we receive it back from the lab, we will schedule your final fitting and adjustments to ensure the perfect fit. With proper care and hardworking oral hygiene habits, your crown can last a long time.
